Not all swimming schools are the same! The State Swim program is unique, progressive and very systemized. If you want the very best for your family then State Swim is the way.

The following gives you information regarding our program and facilities and will help to familiarise yourself with our policies and procedures.

RECEPTION:

Each time you come to the school we ask that you advise reception that you are here for your lesson. This enables us to record your attendance and ensure you are directed to your correct lane.

CLASS GRADING:

Each pupil is allocated a class grade on booking, according to age or previous swimming experience. Pupils are regraded regularly and will be promoted from one grade to the next when the skills required for that level have been achieved. You will be advised on your attendance the colour or number of the lane your child is in, this relates to the colour or number marking at end of the pool. Our customer service and supervisor team will help you to the correct class until you become familiar with the school.

SUPERVISORS:

During all swimming lessons there is at least one supervisor on the pool deck. The supervisor is there to help you with any questions or concerns you may encounter whilst you are at the school. It is also the supervisor's role to act as a liaison between the swimming instructors and the parents of the swimmers within the classes. Therefore if you have any queries regarding your child's progress, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our supervisory team.

AIR HEATING:

The air above the pool is changed 4 times every 60 minutes and is heated throughout the year to make the pool area more comfortable. During the warmer summer months the unit will carry fresh air from outside and into the building. We insist that the water temperature be maintained at 32 degrees Celsius in order to provide the optimum environment for both our teachers and pupils. Whilst this may become very warm for fully clothed spectators it is important to appreciate that it is very necessary to provide the best learning environment for our pupils. The skills of swimming are difficult enough to master without having to overcome the stress of cool water.

WATER TREATMENT & FILTRATION:

State Swim schools are equipped with the latest water treatment and filtration facilities ensuring that our teaching environment is not only the most hygienic and safe but also comfortable and pleasant to be in.

GOGGLES:

The use of goggles is an important part of our program, please read the State Swim brochure, which is available on this website, to appreciate the importance of wearing goggles at every session.

CERTIFICATES:

You will notice that we constantly assess our pupils for certificates. They are awarded regularly as your swimmers progress through the school program and strive to eventually receive the STATE SWIM 400 GOLD certificate, which is the ultimate test to enable us to say that our young swimmers are strong and confident and have graduated from the school.

CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE:

We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest possible standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the pool and surrounds. Should you ever have a query regarding this matter please do not hesitate to speak to one of our friendly supervisors.
