State Swim’s adult swimming lessons are offered in our Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide schools, and cater for adults of all ages and abilities. Our swimming classes for adults are designed for over 18s only and provide a no pressure environment where swimmers can learn at their own pace.
State Swim offers three different swimming classes for adults:
1. Adult Learn to Swim
These adult swimming lessons provide you with the opportunity to learn to swim if you are a complete beginner or have limited swimming experience. It is never too late to learn to swim and our friendly, patient instructors ensure all participants feel safe and welcome so they can fully enjoy the experience of learning to swim as an adult.
2. Stroke Development
This class is for adult swimmers who know how to swim but would like to improve or refine their strokes. As many swimmers will have learned to swim as children, many adults find they have picked up bad habits over the years, or struggle with a stroke they may not have learned the correct technique for originally.
State Swim's stroke development lessons for adults will address these issues and have you swimming with the correct technique for a more pleasant, efficient swimming experience. These classes are perfect for those training for Perth’s Rottnest Channel Swim, Victoria’s Pier to Pub swim or a similar event, who would like to improve their race times and achieve a personal best.
3. Swim for Fit
These lessons are for adults who know how to swim, and want to swim for fun and fitness. Swimmers in this class can swim all strokes but would like to know how to make their strokes efficient enough to develop their swimming fitness or compete in events like the Rottnest Channel Swim.
State Swim's Swim for Fit classes would suit an adult swimmer who may be having difficulty with their breathing technique, or would like to learn how to breathe on both sides (called bilateral breathing).
Whatever your needs, State Swim will have an adult swimming lessons program for you.
