Become a State Swim Instructor
State Swim is the largest indoor swimming school network in Australia and we are looking for swimming instructors to teach children and adults the vital skills of swimming. We want friendly and outgoing people who love the water and want to help children and adults learn to swim.
You may also have the opportunity to explore other roles at our swim schools including customer service officer, coaching or supervising. We offer many opportunities for employees to grow with us.
We offer employees varying shift times, allowing you to balance State Swim with school, another job, or family life. You can work as little as 4 hours per week or as many as 20-30 hours per week.
You will require a current Active Training Swimming and Water Safety Instructor or AUSTSWIM accreditation to work as an instructor with State Swim along with Working With Children Check and CPR certificate. As of 1st January 2015, all people participating in a Swimming Instructor or Aquatic Emergency Procedures course, must obtain a Unique Student Identifier (details on downloadable document).

How to Apply
Please apply by emailing your resume and cover letter stating your prefered location and your availability. For those accepted as a future State Swim employee, please enrol on an instructor course such as Active Training's Swimming and Water Safely Instructor course, please see the Course Calendar and Information sheet. For Active Training participants, please complete the Swimming and Water Safety Instructor enrolment forms part 1 & 2 and return them to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your Operations Manager will schedule your practical hours and advise the procedure from there on.
