OPERATIONS MANAGER East Fremantle Swimming School

Meet the Operations Manager of State Swim East Fremantle!

Renee M is the Operations Manager at East Fremantle. She took some time from her busy schedule to answer a few questions:

1) When did you start working for State Swim?
Originally in 2007 at Craigieburn as an instructor, I then moved to Perth and worked at Whitford City as a instructor and coach, then Ellenbrook as instructor, coach, CSO, supervisor, assistant operations manager, then as manager. Finally I moved to East Fremantle as Ops Manger.

2) Proudest moment at State Swim?
I have had so many proud moments at State Swim as I have been working here for so many years but one highlight would be becoming Operations Manager. Another would be seeing one of the girls I used to coach at Ellenbrook achieve so many of her swimming goals, cracking PB's, constantly winning medals and trophies and being chosen for the state school team. She is now an instructor.

3) Favourite swimming related memory?
Is quite recent, seeing the joy my daughter has for the water and starting to teach her how to swim.

4) Why State Swim?
Originally being able to work with kids doing something I enjoy. Then I decided to change and further my career in this industry as I realised aquatic education is an extremely vital life skill. It's become very rewarding and enjoyable.

5) Three words to describe your job?
Challenging, Educating, Gratifying

6) Something not many people know about you?
Have a Bachelor of Health Science: Myotherapy and I am currently studying a Diploma in Leadership and Management.

7) Who would you like to be for a day?
This was a hard question. Someone like Richard Branson, well a girl version, so I could fly away to my own private island relax and be carefree for the day.
