Meet the Operations Manager of State Swim Whitfords!
Shelly is the Operations Manager at Whitford City. She took some time from her busy schedule to answer a few questions:
1) When did you start working for State Swim?
I started in May 2005 teaching waterbabies on a Saturday afternoon.
2) Proudest moment at State Swim?
Watching my sons progress from students to instructors & coaches and of course being promoted to the Management team
3) Favourite swimming related memory?
Being made school swimming captain in year 11 - it put a few of the year 12's noses out of joint who thought they deserved it!!!
4) Why State Swim?
I bought my boys here to learn to swim when they were babies & as I have always loved swimming, I thought it would be a great way to earn money & keep active at the same time doing a job that I love, instead of sitting at a desk all day long as in my previous jobs.
5) Three words to describe your job?
Fun, challenging & rewarding
6) Something not many people know about you?
I'm actually very shy & quiet especially when I'm around people I don't know - who believes me???
7) Who would you like to be for a day?
I'm happy being me but if I had to say someone: Deborra-Lee Furness - let's face it, who wouldn't want to be married to Hugh Jackman??!!!
